The pre-primary school

The pre-primary classroom provides a caring, supportive environment for children between the ages of 3 to 6 years.

Learing about plantsIt offers a space for them to explore and learn about themselves and their immediate and extended world. The classroom is set up so as to encourage independence and self motivation.

The daily routine includes activities such as a daily visit to the dairy to watch the cows and goats being milked.

The rest of the day is filled with artistic and practical work, imaginative play, stories, movement and music and healthy outdoor play.

Each child has daily focussed time with the teacher in which she nurtures the skills which are vital for the child’s future education.

School readiness is a part of the daily routine for the children in grade R.

While the language medium is English, Zulu is given a strong focus through theme work, the sharing of stories and cultural practices.
